The roofing system is known as SPF (Spray Polyurethane Foam). This system is comprised of foam insulation protected by a water-shedding coating. On flat roof systems a high solid silicone coating is recommended. SPF for roofing is at least 90% closed-cell foam and is water-resistant. R-Value: 6.0 per inch. A high pressure spray gun combines part A & B (A: Isocyanate & B: Polyols resin) with a 1:1 ratio at 1,000-1,300 psi. After spraying foam expands 20-30 times original volume. Cure time is up to two hours. Once foam is cured. Most often times on flat roof systems a silicone coating is applied in two layers. A base coat and top coat. The amount of MILS is determined by each manufacturer specs and length of desired warranty.
