In February 2021, Texas residents faced below-freezing temperatures, rolling blackouts, and severe property damage. Thousands of homes flooded, including student apartment homes like at the high-end Forum at Denton Station.
Thankfully, The Forum called Reclaim Construction and we moved quickly to mitigate the disaster. We were onsite and began working within 12 hours of the call. While working closely with ownership and their insurance carrier’s building consultants and adjusters, we began dry out and demo before the claim was even issued.
While labor, materials, and supplies were in short supply, our Preferred Status with our manufacturers and suppliers ensured we were at the front of the line.
Because the fire suppression system flooded more than 14 buildings, Reclaim had to tackle drying, demo, and rebuild everything damaged by flooding, including the Club House, Leasing, Gym, Basketball Court and Exterior bathrooms.
Our client has never been through a situation as severe. Management did a great job handling the tenant repositioning while Reclaim oversaw the dry out, demo, and put-back. Reclaim worked closely with The Forum’s insurance company building to ensure the damage was properly scoped, documented and recorded.

Even better, because some buildings were beyond repair, Reclaim also worked closely with ownership to design a new Club House and Leasing Office and put it into action while simultaneously working on repair the fire suppression system and starting put back on all the units. This was a true team effort.
It was a pleasure working with everyone on this large loss to ensure the client was taken care of and the students got back into their units in a timely fashion.
